Healthy Sleep Habits for Healthy Children
I strongly believe that healthy sleep habits make for healthy children. A well-rested child is curious, energetic, happy, playful, and eager to learn. Ultimately, healthy sleep habits lead to happy children, functioning parents, and thriving families. My approach places much emphasis on accommodating your parenting style so that you are comfortable. The bottom line, is that you, as a parent, need to be comfortable with your child’s sleep plan in order for it to work for your family. When it comes to child-rearing, there are many different beliefs and philosophies.
While most books or online programs take a particular stand on child-rearing while addressing children’s sleep issues, (based largely around the issue of “crying it out”), I believe that your child’s quality of sleep is more important than my personal views on the subject.
As a mother and now a sleep professional, I have been trained and educated on a variety of parenting styles and have a breadth of knowledge on sleep science. And I would never ask you to do anything you are not comfortable with doing. Or anything I wouldn’t do with my own children. When parents choose me as their personal Sleep Coach, they are placing a great deal of trust in me; and I want you to know that I take this responsibility very seriously.

That allows you to make some choices about what is the right approach for your child. All children are different, and nobody knows your child better than you do. I encourage you to use your knowledge of your child to customize his or her sleep plan.
